ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ hi !! w͢w͢w͢ell, i'm a n0n-binary & genderqueer artist with a vintage conection 2 ZX spectrum 8-bit computer & (Sinclair) BASIC programming. also photography + video / film (analogue & digital) underground / background degree.
How would you describe your art to someone who doesn't know you?
n0n-linear narratives with 𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒖𝒎 loͦoͦpiͥng objects
What led you to work with digital media, and what were your inspirations when you first started?
i started VJing 4 Thug Unicorn (𝕄𝕄𝕏𝕀𝕍), a dj collective from Porto & wanted 2 do something different besides flashy lights + strobe effects. i used random gif files found online, vaporwave videos, video game speed runs even coding tutorials & 3D cool stuff ⇝ i was really obsessed with Claudia Maté catwalking dancing babies ⇜
What are the main concepts behind "⁹ 🄷O͇͉𝕃ᕮ", the digital installation created during the online residency?
⁹ 🄷O͇͉𝕃ᕮ is about the corruption of language & it's use 4 populism propaganda ➥ through social media platforms. it's limited use of characters & the almost impossibility of rational / real p̶o̶l̶i̶t̶i̶c̶a̶l̶ arguments besides #hashtag duels & SHOUTING MATCHES ! this newww$peak language devices the manipulation of memory through a ficcional OTHER 2 whom perpetually hate in a state of authoritarian imagination.
Your work explores human relations through social media, web culture, and video games. Can you tell us more about it?
just trying 2 explore the logic of connective action VS collective action through / inflluence of social media & AI algorithms. more recently game theory and ludology have been considered as a model in social sciences and could be applied in a broader context as a social system. which is to say politics (democratic / fascist / kingdom) is a MMORPG realm ⚔️
What is your process like? Can you walk us through some of it?
it’s a painful method / pattern of endless feeding / clicking oη social media platforms 4 imagery - memes, random footage, stockImage, even :poop:posting & fakenews, engine tools ➫ collecting / editing data as texture material.
What is the origin of your .gif project series?
started them back in 2010 as a way of not spending money on fine-art printing paper for my photography project in school.

You sometimes combine texts with symbols for titles, descriptions, and writings. Can you tell us a bit about that?
why not use systems — language(written) & numeral(symbols) 4 newww meaning. 𝓣𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮’𝓼 𝓪 𝓵𝓸𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓹𝓸𝓮𝓽𝓻𝔂 𝓲𝓷 < 𝓼𝓸𝓾𝓻𝓬𝓮 > 𝓬𝓸𝓭𝓮. also emoji, kaomoji, wtv can be translated / transformed into visual elements. just like a memet̶i̶c̶ media coverage using ‘small units of culture that spread from person 2 person by copying / imitation’, quoting Richard Dawkins, 1976 - assembling an analogy to the idea of a gene or a virus capable of self-replicating information found on the self-replicating chromosome <& so many virus jokes possibilities here > but i’ll just stop ·ﾟ . 。 .
